The Creators of gansta rap, Coming straight outta Compton, the group started in 1986 with EazyE, Dr Dre, Ice Cube, Mc Ren and dj Yella. The group had many controversy due to the explicit lyrics, talkin about Sex, drugs, violence,and the hood mentality. The Group sold over 9 million from 1986 to 1991 thats being banned from the mainstream radio and tv air play. The Ist album Nwa and the posse The album peaked at #39 on Billboard magazine's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Half this album was writting by ICe Cube and Produced by Dr Dre. Smash hits include Boyz n tha hood and Dopeman. the second album Straight outta compton was released in 1988 with much more conterversy with hits such as Fuck tha police, gangsta gangsta, and Straight outta compton. the album was certified 3x platinum by 1992. The album was writtin by Ice Cube and produced by dr dre with tha DJ skills of dj yella. Album is certified a classic. 100 miles and runnin a ep released by ruthless records was their 3rd album. released in 1990, without icecube the 5 track EP was mainly a diss album towards ice cube for leaving the group for having money issues and problems with their manager Jerry heller. The album was more agressive and more uptemped by dr dre beats. NIGGAZ 4 LIFe was thier 4th and final album released 1991 produced by dr dre and dj Yella, it would be tha last album because of dr dre's departure and Ice Cube's song no vasoline was a major diss said to break the group up. The hits included "Alwayz Into Somethin', Appetite for Destruction and Approach To Danger .
Nwa was ranked number 57 of best groups of all tyme, but i rank them in tha top 10 for setting tha tone of gangsta rap and startin revolution in free speach in hip hop. with out them, hip hop may not exsist today.
